Qualifications

Diesel or heavy-equipment technical certification required.
Experience with container-handling equipment, cranes, yard tractors or forklifts.
Formal training in diesel technology, hydraulics or pneumatics.
Experience with electronic engine and equipment diagnostics.
Welding and fabrication experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on diesel-powered terminal equipment.
Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems, including pumps and valves.
Troubleshoot pneumatic systems and repair compressors and lines.
Inspect equipment for deficiencies and perform scheduled service.
Repair or replace worn components to manufacturer specs.
Maintain maintenance records and coordinate with operations.
Follow safety procedures and lockout/tagout practices.
