Job summary

Nexus Disposal in Houston, TX is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to safely operate and repair our fleet of heavy‑duty diesel trucks and equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose issues, and ensure roadworthy vehicles.

The role requires experience with diesel engines, electrical systems, and safety procedures. You will work with diagnostic tools, weld minor bodywork, and support training of technicians in a fast‑paced, OSHA‑compliant shop.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• 1+ year diesel mechanic experience.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Own tools appropriate for the position.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair heavy diesel, CNG, gas, and electrically operated equipment.
• Evaluate mechanical and electrical problems using diagnostic equipment.
• Perform routine vehicle maintenance and preventive care.
• Road tests and road calls to troubleshoot and repair on routes.
• Weld and perform minor bodywork as needed.
