Job summary

Western Technical College in El Paso, TX is seeking a skilled Diesel Fleet Technician to join our maintenance team. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty diesel trucks and fleet equipment to ensure reliability, safety, and performance of our college fleet.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or GED, hands-on diesel experience, and proficiency with diagnostic software such as Navistar NED, Cummins Insite, or Detroit Diesel DiagnosticLink.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Technical certification or associate degree in diesel technology preferred.
• ASE certifications (T-Series or equivalent) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and related components.
• Conduct DOT inspections and ensure fleet vehicles comply with safety standards and regulations.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and software.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation for each unit.
• Respond to roadside service calls as needed.
• Collaborate with other technicians and departments to schedule and prioritize repairs.
