Job summary

EL PASO TRADE SCHOOL INC in El Paso, TX is seeking a skilled Diesel Fleet Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain our fleet of heavy‑duty diesel trucks and equipment, ensuring reliability and safety for daily operations.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of hands‑on diesel experience, proficiency with Navistar NED, Cummins Insite and Detroit Diesel DiagnosticLink, a valid driver’s license (CDL preferred but not required), and ASE T‑Series certification is a plus.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED; technical certification or associate degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on diesel technician experience in a fleet environment.
Proficient with diagnostic software Navistar NED, Cummins Insite, Detroit Diesel DiagnosticLink.
Valid driver’s license; CDL preferred but not required.
ASE certifications (T-Series or equivalent) a plus.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical duties; flexible hours.

Responsibilities

Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and related components.
Conduct DOT inspections and ensure fleet vehicles comply with safety standards.
Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and software.
Maintain accurate maintenance records for each unit.
Respond to roadside service calls as needed.
Collaborate with technicians and departments to schedule and prioritize repairs.
Stay updated on diesel technology, tools, and manufacturer recommendations.
