Job summary

Reyes Fleet Management is hiring a Diesel Mechanic / Fleet Technician A at our Enfield, CT shop. The role focuses on repairs and maintenance of tractors, trailers, and refrigeration units, with emphasis on documentation and adherence to DOT/OSHA safety standards.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED with 3+ years of experience, own tools, and a valid CDL is highly desired in some locations. This is a full-time evening shift with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 3+ years of related experience.
• Must possess own tools.
• Valid driver’s license and acceptable MVR per DOT regulations to operate company vehicles.
• Valid CDL (Class A) is highly desired; mandatory in some locations.
• Ability to frequently lift, push and/or pull weights up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, rebuild and repair fleet equipment (tractors, trailers, refrigeration units, and related parts).
• Complete thorough documentation for work orders of repairs and preventative maintenance through the online Enterprise Asset Management system.
• Diagnoses complex mechanical and electric problems utilizing diagnostic technology/software when applicable.
• Completes complex and detailed mechanical inspections and repairs with minimal supervision.
• Adhere to all company, local, state, and federal polices and regulations including DOT, OSHA, and Reyes Fleet Management standards, while ensuring compliance with safety programs, correct selection and use of appropriate tools, PPE, machine guarding, and established best safety practices.
• This position may require driving Reyes Family of Businesses, Reyes Fleet Management and customer vehicles; DOT-regulated with Driver Qualification file maintenance, annual MVR checks, DOT Physical, and Safety History records; CDL holders may undergo DOT Drug Screening within 30 days of start and FMCSA Clearinghouse review.
