Job summary

Meridian Waste is seeking a PM Mechanic to maintain and repair our waste-collection fleet in Columbia, SC. You will perform diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and repairs on trucks and related equipment to ensure safety and reliability.

The role emphasizes safety, quality workmanship, and timely service, with scheduled shifts and opportunities to support ongoing fleet operations in a fast-paced environment. Experience in diesel mechanics is essential.

Qualifications

• 2+ years’ experience as a Diesel Mechanic.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds.
• Excellent reading and writing skills.
• ASE Diesel Certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Inspect vehicles and diagnostics to identify worn parts.
• Perform repairs and preventive maintenance on waste collection trucks and support equipment.
• Maintain maintenance records and document services.
• Conduct regular preventive maintenance including tire rotations and oil changes.
• Follow safety policies and comply with regulations.
