Job summary

Meridian Waste in Mississippi is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to inspect and repair waste collection trucks and depot equipment. You will run diagnostics, perform preventive maintenance, and service major and minor components to keep fleets running safely and efficiently.

The role requires 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience, ASE certification is a plus, and the ability to lift up to 100 pounds. You’ll work in a fast-paced warehouse environment and uphold safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must be able to perform inspections and diagnostics on diesel vehicles.
• Experience in preventive maintenance of Trucks and service equipment.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment while adhering to safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Determine vehicle condition through inspections and tests.
• Perform minor and major repairs on waste pickup trucks and equipment.
• Maintain preventive maintenance schedules and perform winterization as needed.
• Repair and overhaul major assemblies and systems on vehicles as required.
• Verify vehicle performance with test drives and adjust as needed.
• Maintain accurate vehicle records of services and repairs.
• Collaborate with repair team to diagnose problems and plan repairs.
