Meridian Waste is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair waste collection trucks and support equipment. You will perform preventive maintenance, include tire/service checks, and ensure compliance with safety and industry standards, collaborating with teammates to meet maintenance goals.

The role emphasizes hands-on diagnostics, component/part replacements, and attention to detail in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience with trucks and equipment.
• Ability to lift up to 100 pounds and work in a fast-paced shop environment.
• Excellent reading and writing skills required for accurate records.
• ASE Diesel Certification is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and diagnose vehicle condition and identify worn parts.
• Perform minor and major repairs on waste collection trucks and equipment.
• Conduct preventive maintenance on service trucks including inspections and oil changes.
• Test drive vehicles and adjust controls to verify performance.
• Maintain accurate service records and comply with safety policies.
