Job summary
Sysco is seeking a Fleet Maintenance Technician for a full-time night shift in Ankeny, IA. The role focuses on preventive maintenance, inspections, and expert diagnosis to minimize downtime and maximize fleet reliability.
The position requires 2 years of school plus 1 year of experience or 3 years in fleet maintenance, a valid driver’s license, and technical training in medium/heavy duty trucks. Night shifts may include a $3/hour differential, and uniforms are provided.
Qualifications
- Medium/Heavy Duty truck technical training or equivalent
- High school diploma or GED required
- 2-year school plus 1 year of experience or 3 years of fleet maintenance experience
- Valid driver's license required
Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on fleet vehicles to maximize safety and reliability
- Conduct annual inspections on fleet vehicles per federal/state regulations
- Diagnose malfunctions and perform repairs to manufacturer specifications
- Follow work orders and document all work performed
- Learn Sysco computer programs and use diagnostic tools effectively
- Perform electrical repairs and welding as needed
