Job summary

Summit School Services in Texas is seeking an experienced Fleet Supervisor for a diesel shop environment. You will diagnose malfunctions, supervise maintenance staff, and ensure compliance with DOT and internal safety standards.

The role requires strong diagnostic skills, computer proficiency, budget oversight, and the ability to plan and schedule daily to monthly maintenance tasks. This is a full-time on-site position with benefits and opportunities to influence operations.

Qualifications

• Five years of fleet supervisor experience in diesel/heavy-duty fleets.
• Minimum of five years auto/truck or bus mechanical repair experience.
• Experience with DOT compliance for med/heavy trucks.
• ASE Master Technician certification preferred.
• Must be computer proficient.
• Strong experience with computerized diagnostics.
• Ability to plan and schedule maintenance repairs (Daily, Weekly, Monthly).
• Oversee parts inventory in the facility.
• Supervisor experience in purchasing and budgeting.
• Must be willing to work flexible schedules.
• ASE Certification desirable but not required.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses malfunctions and performs vehicle repairs (e.g. engines, steering, electrical, brakes) within qualification level and in compliance with standards.
• Oversee local implementation of maintenance and safety procedures; ensure staff follow them and comply with regulations.
• Oversee local use of the EAM ERP application and maintenance staff to record and track work orders and parts inventory.
• Oversee the parts inventory maintained and used in the facility.
• Oversee and participate in preventive maintenance and unscheduled repairs.
• Represent the maintenance activity with other operations functions (driver care, route operations, customer care).
• Supervise maintenance staff at the facility.
• Demonstrate ethical conduct and report suspicious behavior.
• Other duties as assigned.
