Job summary

Shambaugh & Son L.P. is seeking a Mechanic to perform repairs on service vehicles and equipment, while maintaining a clean, orderly shop and adhering to safety rules at all times.

Essential duties include running diagnostic tests, replacing engines and braking systems, conducting preventive maintenance, and keeping detailed records. ASE certification is a plus; a valid driver’s license is required. Onsite work with possible extended hours and weekends.

Qualifications

• 2-3 years of experience as automotive technician.
• ASE Certification is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Willingness to work extended hours and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Running diagnostic tests on vehicles.
• Analyzing diagnostic test results.
• Replacing vehicle engines, steering mechanisms, transmissions and braking systems.
• Checking vehicle lighting systems.
• Test driving vehicles to gauge performance.
• Performing preventative maintenance on service trucks.
• Maintaining detailed records of serviced vehicles and adhering to inspection procedures.
• Maintaining a parts inventory.
• Ensuring the cleanliness of the shop.
• Report to garage manager when not knowledgeable of certain problems.
• Coordinate with all personnel and complete work orders legibly.
• Check all vehicles for past-due service.
