Job summary

Shambaugh & Son is seeking a skilled Fleet Mechanic to maintain and repair our fleet of vehicles, trucks, and construction equipment. This hands-on role involves diagnosing mechanical issues, preventive maintenance, and ensuring safety and reliability to support operations.

The ideal candidate has automotive or diesel mechanic experience, strong troubleshooting abilities, and a commitment to safety and quality workmanship, with potential for extended hours and weekends as required.

Qualifications

2+ years of experience as Automotive Technician, Diesel Mechanic, or Fleet Mechanic.
Experience diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment.
Valid driver's license required.
ASE certifications are a plus.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, steering, braking, and drivetrain systems.
Perform preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and equipment.
Conduct inspections and identify service needs before breakdowns occur.
Test drive vehicles to verify repairs and performance.
Maintain accurate service records and work orders.
Manage parts inventory and help keep the shop organized and safe.
Collaborate with team members to ensure vehicles and equipment are operating at peak performance.
