Job summary

Rush Truck Leasing in Memphis is seeking a Diesel Technician to provide service to customers and maintain safety and quality. Responsibilities include cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection, installation with manuals, report writing, disassembly and reconditioning.

Serive requires repairing trucks and engines, installing components, overhauling diesel engines, and maintaining positive customer relations. CDL and valid driver license are preferred but not required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• 7 years’ experience as a Class 7 & 8 technician in a dealership or related truck service facility.
• Current and valid CDL and Medical card preferred but not required.
• Must possess a valid driver license with a clean driving record per company insurance guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical service to vehicles and equipment.
• Perform general and detailed repair of all trucks, engines and components.
• Overhaul gas or diesel engines.
• Install injectors, pistons, liners, cam shafts, cylinder heads, bearings, transmissions and other parts.
• Read job orders and analyze vehicle operation to determine malfunctions and plan work procedures.
• Inspect safety devices and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and test drive to verify conformance with specifications.
• Document work and warranty parts accurately.
