Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a Design Engineering Specialist to design, develop, build and implement new products, components, or technologies for 7L-9L inline-6 diesel engine systems used in Caterpillar machines, gensets, and external engine sales opportunities.

You will guide design evolution, project planning, detail design, and development testing while collaborating with suppliers to ensure safety, quality, velocity and cost are met.

Qualifications

• Requires a degree in an accredited Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum.
• Demonstrated analytical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, build and implement new products, components, or technologies for 7L-9L inline-6 diesel engine systems.
• Guide design evolution, project planning, detail design and development testing; participate in supplier selection.
• Test materials, prototype fabrication, and perform reliability testing and failure analysis.
