Academy Bus is seeking an experienced Class A Diesel Bus Mechanic for our Baltimore, MD location.

Description

Must have experience working on Van Hool, Temsa, and Prevost Buses. Familiar with Cummins and Detroit engines.

Must have experience troubleshooting electrical and engine diagnostics on buses with a laptop, e.g., Detroit, Allison, Cummins. Own tools required.

Shift: Monday-Friday and every other Saturday or Sunday, 6:00am-3:00pm.

Pay rate: $34.00-$42.00 per hour, based on experience.

Responsibilities

• Repair, troubleshoot, and diagnose modern tour bus engines and transmissions
• Perform reconditioning, preventative, and routine maintenance
• Conduct inspections and road tests
• Document warranty and repairs
• Inspect, install, disassemble, and clean components such as diesel engines, electronic systems, drive line components, tires, brakes, radiators, water pumps, and more
• Respond to road calls
• Perform general welding and fabrication
• Train and supervise B/C Level mechanics and maintenance staff

Requirements

• Experience with Van Hool, Temsa, and Prevost buses
• Familiarity with Cummins and Detroit engines
• AC Certification
• Proficient with hand tools, diagnostic devices, and testing instruments
• Valid driver’s license
• Basic computer skills
• Ability to pass background check and drug screen
• CDL with Passenger and Airbrake endorsements is a plus, willingness to obtain CDL through company training is desirable
