Position Overview

The role involves performing analytical, preventative maintenance, and repair duties on a fleet of construction equipment, trucks, automobiles, and hand tools powered by gasoline and diesel engines. Additional details are available in the position description.

Work Schedule and Additional Information
  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours vary seasonally, typically from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM in summer and 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM in winter, Monday to Friday, with a 30-minute lunch
  • Travel, overtime, and shift work required; hours subject to seasonal and operational needs
  • Telework is not available for this position
  • Salary may be non-negotiable in some cases
Qualifications and Requirements

Minimum Experience and Training:

  • Completion of the Commonwealth's Diesel and Construction Equipment Mechanic Trainee program or equivalent, or
  • Two years of journey-level mechanic experience, including one year in diesel vehicle repair, or
  • An equivalent experience and training combination

Special Requirements:

  • Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License
  • Valid Medical Examiner's Certificate per Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations

Conditions of Employment:

  • Must obtain a heavy truck and loader operation certification from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation during probation
  • May need to obtain and maintain CDL endorsements and specific equipment certifications
  • Some positions require a valid Pennsylvania Inspection Mechanic Certification on the first day
  • Operation of manual transmission vehicles or equipment may be required
  • Position subject to Drug and Alcohol testing according to federal regulations

  • Ability to perform essential job functions
