Job summary

Smurfit Westrock is seeking a Utility Support on the 3rd shift to assist in the production of our packaging machinery. The role focuses on ensuring machine readiness and product quality, following safety policies and procedures.

Responsibilities include monitoring starch and glue adhesion with quality checks, managing line clearance and next order setup, performing monthly PM tasks on the stacker, and assisting operators as needed while maintaining compliance with state/local laws.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED minimum.
• Must be available to work 3rd shift.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Proficient Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Must have prior die cut experience.

Responsibilities

• Monitor starch adhesion on the SF side using X-test quality checks.
• Monitor glue adhesion on the DF side with edge-pull quality checks.
• Monitor front/back and side-to-side registration; communicate adjustments to operators.
• Understand line clearance, next order setup and all stacker controls.
• Perform all monthly PM tasks on the stacker section of the machine.
• Work safely and efficiently per company policies and procedures.
• Assist operators as needed.
• Work overtime as required.
