Job summary

Le Sueur Incorporated (LSI) is seeking an Operations Manager to oversee all permanent mold die casting operations at our Montrose, MN facility. The role drives production targets, quality, safety, cost efficiency, and continuous improvement, leading production teams and coordinating with engineering and maintenance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (preferred).
• 5–10+ years of experience in die casting operations.
• 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of die casting processes.
• Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
• Strong problem-solving and leadership skills.
• Understanding of die design and tooling.
• ERP/MRP system experience.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Data-driven decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and supervise daily die casting operations.
• Ensure production schedules are achieved according to customer requirements.
• Monitor machine performance, downtime, and productivity metrics.
• Optimize cycle times and improve overall equipment effectiveness.
• Oversee die setup, changeovers, and troubleshooting.
• Ensure proper process parameters are maintained (temperature, pressure, shot speed).
• Review defect trends and implement preventive measures.
• Manage departmental budget and control production costs.
• Lead safety, quality, and process improvement initiatives.
• Perform performance evaluations and workforce planning.
