Job summary

Optimal in Bedford, Indiana, is seeking a maintenance team lead to safely maintain casting and machining equipment while meeting daily production, quality, and uptime targets.

You will own the Workplace Safety System, lead 2nd/3rd shift in the die casting environment, sustain WPO/5S standards, and drive root-cause analysis using Maximo and GM tools. Plan preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance and coach teammates to improve skills and safety.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience in a industrial/manufacturing environment.
• Mechanical aptitude or background.
• Experience in industrial or manufacturing environments.
• Demonstrated reliability, discipline and on-time attendance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team to safely maintain casting and machining equipment.
• Sustain WPO/5S standards and complete audits.
• Own Level 4/5 BPD boards; monitor SPQRCE metrics and countermeasures.
• Lead root-cause analysis using GM PPS, GMS tools, and Andon/Maximo data.
• Plan preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance with Maximo.
• Ensure standardized work and timely GL tasks; training and qualifications of trades/TLs.
• Protect product quality; handle non-conforming material and PQS adherence.
• Manage spare parts and indirect materials to minimize cost and maximize reliability.
• Provide coaching and performance development for team members.
