Qualifications

  • 3-4+ years of production line maintenance experience.
  • Experience in manufacturing with strong mechanical/electrical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive maintenance to reduce downtime and support reliable operations.
  • Troubleshoot and perform reactive maintenance on production lines to restore equipment.
  • Identify root causes of breakdowns and support equipment improvements using CI principles.
  • Repair mechanical, electrical, and structural components, including retrofits and fabrication.
  • Work on PLCs, VFDs, and electric motors.
  • Maintain clean, organized shop areas, inventory, and supplies.
  • Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to support health and safety standards.
  • Maintain electrical systems, replace bulbs, and service breakers.
  • Ensure GMP adherence and safe work practices.
  • Support operations through regular attendance and related duties.

Job description

The Maintenance Technician keeps equipment operating reliably through preventive maintenance, reactive troubleshooting, and emergency repair support across production, warehouse, and office operations. This role is well suited for someone who works effectively in a hands‑on environment, solves technical problems quickly, and follows established safety and maintenance standards with care.

Openings are available on second shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM) and third shift (10:00 PM - 6:30 AM).

Starting entry-level rate is $32.00 per hour plus shift differential (5% for second shift and 7% for third shift).

Core Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive maintenance to reduce equipment downtime and support reliable operations
  • Troubleshoot and complete reactive maintenance on production lines to restore equipment after component failure
  • Identify root causes of unexpected machine breakdowns and support equipment improvements using continuous improvement principles
  • Repair mechanical, electrical, and structural components, including retrofits and fabrication as needed
  • Work on programmable logic controllers (PLCs), variable frequency drives (VFDs), and electric motors
  • Clean, organize, inventory, stock, and maintain shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies
  • Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to support health and safety standards
  • Perform maintenance on electrical systems, including replacing light bulbs and sockets and cleaning or repairing circuit breaker panels
  • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and associated equipment using Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
  • Support production and facility operations through regular, consistent attendance and other related duties as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities
  • Strong troubleshooting and repair capability across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and with a team
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills for coordinating work and documenting issues accurately
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple maintenance needs, and respond with urgency when equipment issues arise
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, devices, and computer-based work orders
  • Ability to apply OSHA safety standards and maintain safe work practices
  • Ability to operate machinery and equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, boom trucks, and cranes
  • Flexibility to support all shifts as needed, including on‑call work, weekends, and holidays
  • Commitment to ongoing training and continued skill development
Other Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • 3-4+ years of previous production line maintenance experience required
  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment with strong mechanical and electrical skills required
  • Vocational or community college coursework in a related field, or equivalent experience, preferred
  • Prolonged periods of standing and walking
  • Must be able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machineryMust be able to visually inspect machines
  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to climb ladders and stairs
