Kurt Die Casting, a division of Kurt Manufacturing near Minneapolis, MN, is seeking a Die Cast Technician to tend die casting machines casting aluminum and zinc components.

Shift is 4:30am to 3pm, Monday through Thursday. Starting pay ranges from $20.26 to $27.01 per hour, depending on skills and experience, with opportunities to learn and grow in a diversified manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent GED.
• 1 month of related experience.
• NADCA Level I Certification preferred.
• 6 months of related experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Turns valves to regulate flow of water through dies.
• Blows metal fragments from die surfaces, using air hose, and sprays lubricant over die cavity and plunger.
• Pushes button to close and lock dies and activate plunger that forces molten metal into die cavities.
• Removes casting from conveyor.
• Places casting into trim press and operates trim press machine.
• Inspects casting for defects, such as cracks or blisters; may measure casting with gauges.
• May operate deburring and related tooling machines (drilling, deburring, grinding, blending, buffing, tumbling, chamfering).
• May regulate speed of machine.
• May perform maintenance and clean machine.
• May clean furnaces and equipment.
• May operate forklift to move, stack, or unload metal.
