Job Description - Dialysis Technician (2500010X)

Overview

In collaboration with the multidisciplinary healthcare team and under the supervision of the Registered Nurse, the Dialysis Technician performs basic nursing care activities. Responsibilities include maintaining a safe, clean, and stocked patient care environment, assisting staff, and managing patient flow.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Minimum Work Experience: 1 year in pediatric healthcare setting (Preferred)
  • Skills/Knowledge: Aseptic technique, basic calculations, human relations, non-judgmental behavior
  • Licenses/Certifications: BLS, Patient Care Technician (CPCT), dialysis technician certification (1.5 years required)

Responsibilities

Patient Care
  • Orient families, perform vital signs, monitor patient status, and assist with hygiene and nutrition care
  • Recognize and report pain or skin issues, assist with specialized procedures, and collect samples
Patient Support & Infection Control
  • Manage patient flow, prepare rooms, document care, and adhere to infection control protocols
Staff Relations & Conduct
  • Communicate effectively, maintain professionalism, participate in team and unit activities
Dialysis Functions
  • Manage dialysis treatments, prepare and clean equipment, perform water checks, and follow protocols
Organizational Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate teamwork, contribute to safety, quality improvement, and cost efficiency, and adhere to policies

Location & Schedule

Primary Location: Washington, D.C., CN Hospital (Main Campus)

Position: Full-Time, Day Shift, 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Salary Range: $46,176 - $92,872
