Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking an entry‑level Registered Nurse for the Outpatient RN CAP 1 track within the Clinical Advancement Program. The role involves coordinating and delivering clinically competent care for dialysis patients, with emphasis on assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation under supervision.

As part of the End Stage Kidney Disease care team, you will participate in teaching, leadership, and quality improvement activities while meeting state licensure and CPR BLS

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current state licensure required.
• CPR BLS certification required.
• Must meet state practice requirements.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential nursing functions under supervision and with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor, or other RNs.
• Collects and analyzes patient data during pre-, during-, and post-hemodialysis treatment and documents in the patient record.
• Educates patients and families about learning needs; provides initial and ongoing education.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis therapy in collaboration with direct and ancillary staff.
• Administers medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms; documents justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Serves as a resource and participates in staff training and orientation.
• Ensures correct laboratory collection and processing procedures are followed.
• Updates nursing assessment and care plan with Interdisciplinary Team.
• Discusses transplant and treatment modality options with patients.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing

Current appropriate state licensure

Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification

Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed
