Job summary

CH01 CHE Fresenius Medical Care (Schweiz) AG is seeking an entry-level Registered Nurse for its outpatient dialysis program. The RN CAP 1 role focuses on coordinating patient care, documenting assessments, and guiding the care team in delivering hemodialysis therapy.

Responsibilities include patient data collection, education for patients and families, medication administration, and emergency response support.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• Current or successful completion of CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.
• Entry level for RNs with less than 2 years of Nephrology Nursing experience.
• Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Performs essential functions under supervision with guidance from the Clinical Educator, Preceptor or RN leadership.
• Collects and analyzes patient data before, during and after hemodialysis and documents in the medical record.
• Assesses learning needs to provide initial and ongoing education to patients and families.
• Directs daily delivery of safe hemodialysis care for assigned patients in collaboration with the team.
• Administers medications as prescribed or via approved algorithms and documents effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures as needed.
• Acts as a resource to the health care team and participates in staff training and orientation.
• Ensures correct lab collection, processing and shipping and reschedules missed collections.
• Documents expected outcomes and updates nursing plans of care with the interdisciplinary team.
• Educates patients on transplant and treatment modality options; completes CAP requirements to advance.
• Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
