Job summary

Dialysis Clinic, Inc. is seeking a Patient Care Technician to support our nonprofit mission by providing compassionate care to patients with end-stage renal disease.

You will assist clinical staff throughout the dialysis treatment, participate in infection control and education, and ensure safe, high-quality outcomes in a team setting. This full-time role includes alternating 12- and 8-hour shifts starting at 6am, Sundays off, and paid training with a preceptor.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Actively participate in infection control, risk management and patient education activities
• Guide new patients through 120-day education plan
• Obtain and record patient vital signs and machine readings during treatment
• Role under RN supervision
• Set up and break down dialysis blood system for treatment
• Insert and remove patient access needles
• Monitor patients during dialysis, document changes and inform charge nurse of any concerns
• Calculate patient’s weight loss to reach dry weight
• Determine patient care priorities and organize work load accordingly
• Maintain professional working relationship, observing patient privacy and rights
• Maintain and track inventory
• Perform laboratory work

High school diploma or GED

Healthcare experience preferred

CNA EMT medical assistant CNT phlebotomy skills desired

3-month comprehensive education program
