Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Richmond, VA seeks a dialysis technician to support safe, effective dialysis therapy under supervision. You will help set up machines, monitor patients, and maintain a clean, compliant dialysis unit.

Responsibilities include assessing vascular access, recording vital signs, and reporting changes to the nurse in charge. The role requires lifting, frequent standing, and adherence to infection control policies.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Must meet CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements.
• All appropriate state licensure, education, and training required.
• CPR certification required.
• Previous patient care experience in a hospital or related facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and check wellbeing since last treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access and cannulation; administer heparin as delegated.
• Obtain pre/post treatment vitals and weight; document.
• Initiate dialysis per orders; manage QB/QD as prescribed.
• Monitor patient response and intervene as needed per physician orders.
• Document treatment data accurately and timely.
