Job description

How you will change lives
As a Patient Care Technician (PCT) at US Renal Care, you will be an essential part of a multidisciplinary team providing care and delegated treatment activities to patients with renal failure. The PCT works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Charge Nurse (CN).

What you'll be doing

1. Patient care: Provide safe, comfortable, and high-quality dialysis treatment. Responsibilities include gathering patient stats before and after treatment, initiating, monitoring, and terminating treatment, and collecting blood samples as per physician orders.
2. Technician duties: Prepare dialysis machines, ensure cleanliness and disinfection post-treatment, conduct safety checks, and log results, following all protocols and regulations.
3. Safety and quality: Follow safety measures, including PPE, adhere to company policies, and participate in meetings and continuing education.

State-specific requirements

California

• Must possess current CHT certificate from California Department of Public Health at hire or obtain it within six weeks if trained at an approved program.

Maryland

• Must have current CNA-DT certificate from Maryland Board of Nursing or obtain it within three months of hire; out-of-state applicants must have active BONENT certification and proof of application.

New Mexico

• Must have New Mexico dialysis technician certificate at hire or obtain it within six months if trained at an approved program; out-of-state applicants must have a national hemodialysis certificate and submit proof.

Ohio

• Must have Ohio dialysis technician intern certificate at hire or apply within four weeks; must obtain Ohio Board of Nursing Certificate within 12-18 months of starting the program.

Oregon

• Must possess current CHDT certificate at hire or obtain provisional within three weeks and full certification within 18 months.
