Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks an entry‑level Registered Nurse for its Outpatient CAP 1 track. The role focuses on patient assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation for dialysis patients within a team setting.

You will participate in ongoing education, collaborate with RNs, LVNs and technicians, and contribute to quality improvement activities. 12 weeks of dialysis education provided; full‑time with full benefits; no overnights or Sundays.

Qualifications

• RN with less than 2 years in nephrology nursing.
• Chronic/acute hemodialysis experience preferred.
• Graduate of an accredited nursing program; valid state license; CPR/BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential functions under supervision with guidance from the Supervisor, Clinical Educator or collaborating RNs.
• Collects and analyzes patient data pre‑, during‑, and post‑hemodialysis; adjusts the plan as needed.
• Assesses and documents patient/family learning needs and provides education.
• Delivers safe and effective hemodialysis treatment in collaboration with care staff.
• Administers medications as prescribed or per approved algorithms; documents justification and effectiveness.
• Initiates or assists with emergency response measures.
• Acts as a resource; participates in staff training and orientation for new staff.
• Ensures proper lab collection, processing, and shipping; reschedules missed labs.
• Documents nursing assessments and care plans with the Interdisciplinary Team; updates as needed.
• Educates patients about transplant options and treatment modalities.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance within the program.
• May perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
