Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks an entry-level Registered Nurse in the Outpatient CAP 1 program to provide and coordinate clinically competent care for an assigned patient group undergoing hemodialysis. You will assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate care, delegating tasks as appropriate to other RNs, LVNs/LPNs, and Patient Care Technicians.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• Current appropriate state licensure.
• CPR BLS Certification.
• Must meet the practice requirements in the state in which he or she is employed.

Responsibilities

• Performs essential functions under supervision and with guidance from Supervisors, Educators, and Physicians.
• Collects and analyzes patient data during hemodialysis and documents in medical records.
• Educates patients and families on care needs.
• Delivers safe, effective hemodialysis therapy with staff collaboration.
• Administers medications as prescribed and documents effectiveness.
• Assists with emergency response measures.
• Trains and orients new staff as assigned.
• Ensures proper lab collection and processing, rescheduling missed collections.
• Documents nursing assessments and care plans with Interdisciplinary Team.
• Explains transplant and treatment modality options.
• Completes CAP requirements to advance.

Education

Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
