Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks a Biomedical Technician to maintain and repair dialysis and water treatment equipment across clinics. You will train colleagues on equipment maintenance and manage essential supplies to ensure patient safety and continuity of care.

The role involves troubleshooting, annual verification of water testing procedures, and collaboration with clinical staff to meet safety and regulatory standards. A valid license and relevant training are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in electronics/biomedical technology, or equivalent preferred.
• Valid driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs dialysis equipment, ancillary equipment, and water treatment systems.
• Maintains the physical plant and ensures outside vendor services per contract.
• Purchases and retains an inventory of service parts.
• Performs water/dialysate sample collection and reports actions.
• Conducts trend analysis on the water system to ensure proper function.
• Documents repairs and maintenance activity.
• Assists in planning and installing biomedical equipment for safe operation.
• Transports equipment as needed with supervisor consent.
• Participates in monthly technical and regulatory meetings.
• Collaborates with facility staff to meet regulatory and OSHA requirements.
• Manages inventory including receiving and transporting deliveries.
• Provides training on testing water systems per manufacturer specs.
• Completes required state/federal training programs.
• Provides after-hours on-call coverage as needed.
