Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care seeks a Biomedical Technician to maintain and repair dialysis equipment and water treatment systems in kidney care clinics. You will train colleagues on maintenance and manage medical supplies to support safe patient care.

The role includes planning/installing biomedical equipment, inventory management, and on-call coverage. A HS diploma and drivers license are required, with a biomedical tech training program completed within 24 months.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associate degree in electronics/biomedical technology preferred but not required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Successful completion of Fresenius Biomedical Technician training within 24 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs dialysis equipment, ancillary equipment, and water treatment systems.
• Maintains the physical plant, as directed.
• Ensures outside vendor services are completed per contract.
• Purchases and retains an inventory of service parts.
• Performs, evaluates, and reports water/dialysate sample collection and actions required.
• Conducts daily, weekly, and monthly trend analysis on the water system to assure proper function.
• Documents all repairs and maintenance activity.
• Assists in planning and installing biomedical equipment for safe operation.
• Transports equipment as needed with supervisor consent.
• Participates in monthly technical and regulatory meetings.
• Collaborates with facility staff to meet regulatory/OSHA requirements.
• Manages inventory including receiving, stocking, and inter-clinic transfers.
• Verifies and monitors patient care staff’s testing techniques for water systems.
• Completes all required technical training programs per regulations and policy.
• Provides after-hours on-call coverage as needed.
