Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care in Vista, CA seeks a Charge Nurse to oversee daily direct patient care and ensure safe, high-quality dialysis services. You will guide staff, participate in staffing decisions, and maintain compliance with all regulations while supporting patient safety and effective outcomes.

The role requires an RN license with prior nursing experience, including dialysis exposure, and supervisory capabilities.

Qualifications

• RN license must be in good standing.
• Minimum of 12 months of nursing experience; 6 months of dialysis experience preferred.
• Supervisory or management experience preferred.
• CPR certification required.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day guidance and direction to direct patient care staff.
• Participate in staffing, hiring, firing and disciplinary actions.
• Ensure compliance with all procedures, policies and regulations.
• Oversee scheduling and timekeeping for staff on assigned shifts.
• Lead patient care plan meetings and bedside rounds.
• Maintain knowledge of dialysis practices and participate in in-service trainings.
• Train and orient new staff; observe and guide care delivery to ensure safety.
• Promote OSHA safety practices and maintain a clean, safe work environment.
• Coordinate duties with RNs and other care team members; monitor patient conditions and adjust care as needed.
• Administer medications as ordered by physicians and document care accurately.
