Job summary

Intermountain Health in Salt Lake City, Utah is seeking a Dialysis Technician to provide patient-centred dialysis care under RN direction. You will set up dialysis equipment, initiate and monitor therapy, and document responses in the electronic health record while reporting variations to the charge RN.

The role is full-time (36 hours/week) with on-call and weekend requirements; a BLS credential is required, and CCHT certification must be obtained within 18 months or you must vacate the role.

Qualifications

• Obtain Basic Life Support (BLS) for healthcare providers prior to start date.
• Caregivers must obtain Certified Chronic Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) within 18 months of hire or vacate the role.
• Maintain an active CCHT or CHT certification to remain in the role.

Responsibilities

• Set up dialysis machines and initiate, monitor, and terminate dialysis therapy per provider order.
• Recognize problems and notify responsible parties promptly.
• Maintain a safe environment by following Intermountain policies and guidelines.
• Document care in the electronic health record.
• Participate in continuous quality improvement activities.
