Job summary

Fresenius Medical Care is seeking a dedicated dialysis support professional to join the care team. You will assist in education, monitor patients during treatment, and ensure safe, effective dialysis under licensed supervision.

The role involves cannulation, heparin administration as allowed, and meticulous documentation of treatments. The position requires a High School diploma or GED, CMS/state certifications, CPR, and willingness to travel between facilities as needed.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or G.E.D. is required.
• CMS-approved state and/or national certification requirements within the required state or CMS timeline.
• All appropriate state licensure, education, and training (if any) required.
• Demonstrated commitment to organization culture, values, and customer service standards.
• Previous patient care experience in a hospital setting or a related facility preferred.
• Continued employment is dependent on successful completion of the organization dialysis training program and successful completion of CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Assist in education on adequacy measures such as OLc/AMP/UKM.
• Welcome patients and monitor wellbeing after treatment.
• Evaluate vascular access and cannulate; administer heparin as delegated.
• Obtain pre/post-treatment vital signs and weights; evaluate pre-treatment vascular access.
• Initiate dialysis per orders and monitor treatment parameters.
• Record treatment data and maintain accurate documentation.
• Ensure safety alarms are enabled and monitor NVL 160.
• Maintain infection control practices and keep environment clean.
• Assist in training direct patient care staff under nurse supervision.
