Job summary

Health Systems Management, Inc. in King, NC is recruiting Certified Nursing Aides (CNA) to train as Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) who will support RNs in providing dialysis to multiple patients.

The program starts with a 10-week paid training including classroom and hands-on skills, with opportunities to advance in the dialysis center. The position is full-time with four 10-hour shifts weekly, starting at 5am, typically 36–40 hours during training, and no overnights.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Prefer CNA, Certified Med Techs, or Phlebotomy Techs.
• Must pass Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) exam within 18 months.
• Must have or obtain Basic Life Support certification approved by the American Heart Association.
• Must be comfortable working around blood and needles, including cannulation.
• Authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S. — no visa sponsorship available.

Responsibilities

• Set up the hemodialysis machine.
• Greet patients and collect details regarding their previous treatment; report concerns to the lead nurse.
• Assist with and prepare the patient's vascular access for treatment.
• Initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatment per policies and standards of care.
• Take and document patient vital signs before, during, and after dialysis.
• Monitor fluid removal and document in medical records.
• Perform cannulation and report difficulties to the lead nurse.
• Monitor for adverse reactions and intervene as needed.
• Watch for machine malfunctions and report to the lead nurse.
• Maintain infection control, PPE usage, and universal precautions.
• Assist with patient safety, daily living needs, and ambulation.
