Ochsner Health System in Louisiana is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to perform advanced ultrasound procedures in collaboration with radiologists. The role mentors junior staff and students, ensures protocol adherence, and maintains high-quality imaging standards.

Qualified candidates will have CAHEA-approved training, RDMS eligibility within 1 year, and BLS certification. A flexible schedule including on-call availability is preferred to support 24/7 patient care needs.

Qualifications

• Must complete CAHEA approved training in diagnostic sonography.
• RDMS or registry eligible within 12 months of hire.
• BLS certification from American Heart Association.
• 2 years sonographer experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy.
• Operates imaging equipment per protocol and assists radiologists in guided procedures.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Reviews images for diagnostic quality before transmission.
• Performs routine quality control and regulatory compliance tasks.
• Supports department operations (inventory, staff schedules, equipment maintenance).
• Adapts communication and approach to diverse patient populations.
• Performs other related duties as required.
