Job summary

UNC Health in Smithfield, NC, seeks a Diagnostic Ultrasound Sonographer to perform a range of ultrasound procedures (OB/GYN, vascular, abdomen, small parts) with color Doppler and biopsy guidance. Hours are rotating 7:00am–7:00pm, with an onsite schedule and a $15,000 commitment incentive paid over a 3-year period.

Position requires completion of a 12-month ultrasound program, RDMS certification or eligibility within 1 year, and BLS.

Qualifications

• Completion of a 12-month program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or General Ultrasound.
• RDMS registration or eligibility and compliance with ARDMS requirements to become registered within 1 year.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Produces diagnostic ultrasound exams with accurate data and impressions.
• Maintains equipment and supplies, ensures clean, safe work environment, and assists in troubleshooting.
• Reviews patient charts and prior studies to correlate findings and optimize scheduling and workflow.
• Provides ultrasound guidance for procedures and participates in departmental conferences and quality assurance.
