Job summary

UPMC Presbyterian is hiring a Diagnostic Technologist to support the Sports Medicine team. This role offers a Monday–Friday daylight schedule with no weekends or holidays, promoting a healthy work-life balance.

You will perform imaging procedures, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with a dynamic Sports Medicine team to help athletes get back in the game. Requirements include ARRT certification in Radiography, ARRT-approved Radiologic Technology program, CPR/BLS, and 2 years of diagnostic

Qualifications

• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Radiologic Technology.
• ARRT certified in Radiography.
• CPR or BLS required (AHA standards) within 30 days of hire.
• Act 34 clearance required.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic imaging procedures using established protocols and independent judgment to produce high-quality results.
• Identify and prepare patients properly using two patient identifiers and universal protocol to ensure accuracy and safety.
• Review orders and patient histories to determine the best approach for imaging and document all necessary information in the electronic record.
• Administer oral and rectal contrast per physician orders and department policy.
• Ensure exam accuracy — properly code, track, archive, and enter charges for all studies performed.
• Operate advanced imaging equipment for the acquisition, analysis, and documentation of image data according to protocol.
• Communicate clearly and compassionately with patients, explaining procedures and helping them feel comfortable and informed.
• Collaborate with your team to deliver efficient, high-quality patient care while maintaining dignity, respect, and professionalism.

• Must have obtained a performance review rating of strong/solid/good on most recent performance review to be eligible for promotion.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:

• ARRT certified in Radiography. CPR or BLS Required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
• ARRT Certificate
• Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
