Job summary

Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC seeks a skilled sonographer to perform diagnostic ultrasound exams, communicate results to radiologists, and ensure patient comfort and safety. You will operate complex equipment, support department workflows, and contribute to high-quality imaging services.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a approved sonography program or eligible for registry/certification.
• Must obtain ARDMS certifications within 18 months of hire.
• BLS certification and ongoing professional development are expected.

Responsibilities

• Operate diagnostic ultrasound equipment and communicate results to radiologists.
• Perform exams including abdominal, vascular, obstetric/gynecologic, and pediatric scans as assigned.
• Ensure patient safety, comfort, and privacy during procedures.
• Maintain equipment, document exams, and assist with department operations.
