Job summary

Geisinger South Wilkes-Barre is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform standardized radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations, ensuring proper patient positioning and exposure techniques. You will operate all modality equipment and assist physicians during procedures in a clinical setting.

The role requires knowledge of imaging equipment, proper immobilization and radiation protection, and the ability to review patient size and condition to select examination parameters.

Qualifications

  • Graduate from Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology is required.
  • Certification(s) and ARRT license, BLS certification required.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills with teaching ability.

Responsibilities

  • Performs standardized radiographic and fluoroscopic exams with proper patient positioning.
  • Operates modality equipment and ensures safety and proper exposure techniques.
  • Sets up immobilization and radiation protection devices as needed.
  • Reviews patient size and condition to select appropriate examination parameters.
  • Assists physicians during procedures and reports any equipment issues.
  • Maintains records and participates in QA/QC activities and student training.

Job Summary: Sign on bonus for eligible candidates!! Responsible for performing a variety of standardized radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations, equipment operation, and for maintaining related records.

Job Duties
  • Performs standardized radiological radiographic and fluoroscopic examinations utilizing proper patient position, identification and exposure techniques.
  • Knowledgeable in operation of all equipment within modality.
  • Sets up and adjusts immobilization and radiation protective equipment and devices.
  • Reviews and analyzes patient body size, thickness, age, physical condition, and suspected pathology in performing examinations.
  • Assists physician with various procedures.
  • Reports equipment malfunctions and the need for adjustments or repairs.
  • Maintains related records and notations.
  • Assists in Quality Assurance/Quality Control procedures as required.
  • Participates in the educational training of students.
