Job summary

Geisinger Medical Center Muncy is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, ensuring safety and accuracy under licensed supervision. The role includes preparing patients, administering medications as prescribed, and maintaining documentation in compliance with laws and policies.

Applicants must graduate from a Radiologic Technology program and hold BLS, with ARRT radiography certification.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS).
• ARRT Radiography certification/licensure.

Responsibilities

• Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is identified and prepared for exam.
• Utilizes imaging protocols and optimizes technical factors for patient safety.
• Preparing and/or administering medications via vascular access sites as prescribed.
• Evaluates images for positioning and quality; ensures data archiving and transfer.
• Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers.
• Assisting licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures.
• Performing diagnostic radiographic and noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed.
• Demonstrates commitment to department and organizational priorities.
• Fully proficient in routine and complex duties, including Operating Room procedures.
• Participates in modality quality or process improvement activities.

Job Summary:

$30,000 sign on bonus for eligible applicants!! Radiologic Technologists are responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic or research purposes. A Radiologic Technologist performs a full scope of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures and acquires and analyzes data needed for diagnosis at the request of and for interpretation by a licensed practitioner. Radiologic Technologists independently perform or assist the licensed practitioner in the completion of radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures. Radiologic Technologists prepare, administer, and document activities related to medications and radiation exposure in accordance with federal and state laws, regulations, or lawful institutional policy.

Job Duties:

• Ensures correct order is obtained, patient is properly identified and prepared for exam, and that clinical history is corroborated and appropriately documented while respecting confidentiality.
• Utilizes appropriate imaging protocol and optimizes technical factors while maximizing patient safety, optimizing patient care, and applying principles of ALARA (As Low as Reasonably Achievable).
• Preparing and/or administering, as applicable, medications through new or existing vascular access site as prescribed by a licensed practitioner.
• Evaluates images for proper positioning and acceptable technical quality and verifies archival storage and/or transfer of data, post processing of data if applicable.
• Educating and monitoring students and other health care providers.
• Assisting the licensed practitioner with fluoroscopic and specialized radiologic procedures.
• Performing diagnostic radiographic and noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures as prescribed by a licensed practitioner, including those procedures performed outside of the Radiology Department (i.e., Operating room, Endoscopy, ICU, etc.).
• Demonstrates commitment to department and organizational priorities.
• Fully proficient in all assigned routine and complex job duties., including all procedures in the Operating Room.
• Participates in modality quality or process improvement activities.
• Work is typically performed in a clinical environment.
