Job summary

Azza HealthCare Agency in Wilkes-Barre, PA is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures under physician supervision, ensuring image quality and patient safety.

You will follow ALARA standards, obtain orders, verify patient data, and contribute to education of students and staff while maintaining confidentiality. ARRT-R certification within 6 months and the ability to work independently are expected.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a specialty radiologic technology program.
• ARRT-R registry within 6 months of hire; 2nd level advancement steps within 24 months for those hired after a date.

Responsibilities

• Obtain correct patient orders, verify identification, prep patients, and document history while maintaining confidentiality.
• Follow imaging protocols, optimize factors, and apply ALARA for patient safety and care.
• Prepare/administer medications via vascular access as prescribed, evaluate image quality, and verify data storage/transfer.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, assist with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures, including outside Radiology.

Role Overview:

Radiologic Technologists administer ionizing radiation for diagnostic, therapeutic, or research purposes, performing radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures to assist licensed practitioners.

Key Responsibilities

• Obtain correct patient orders, ensure proper identification, prepare patients for exams, and document clinical history while maintaining confidentiality.
• Utilize appropriate imaging protocols, optimize technical factors, and apply ALARA principles for patient safety and care.
• Prepare and/or administer medications via vascular access as prescribed, evaluate image quality, and verify data storage and transfer.
• Educate and monitor students and healthcare providers, assist with fluoroscopic and specialized procedures, including outside the Radiology Department.

Qualifications & Skills

• Graduate from a Specialty Training Program in Radiologic Technology; Bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
• Obtain ARRT-R registry within 6 months of hire; for new hires after a specific date, complete steps for level 2 advancement within 24 months.
• Ability to perform diagnostic radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures independently and assist licensed practitioners.
