Job summary

UNC Health in Chapel Hill, NC seeks a Radiologic Technologist to provide and teach diagnostic radiology procedures. You will assist the radiologist, prepare contrast media, and ensure safety per state and federal rules.

Requirements include an Associate's degree or accredited Radiologic Sciences program, ARRT registration (or eligibility with registration within one year), and BLS certification. Per diem, onsite position with UNC Medical Center alignment.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Sciences or registry eligible and become registered within one (1) year from date of hire.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates knowledge of General Diagnostic Radiology; adheres to UNC protocols; maintains RT(R) credentials and assists with troubleshooting.
• Ensures correct patient demographics, examinations, and image transmission to PACS; documents in RIS; maintains equipment.
• Performs high-quality radiographic images; reviews orders/images; maintains a clean, safe work environment; reports improvement opportunities.
• Uses RIS/CIS/PACS and SMS to access information and document procedure status; completes exams in RIS; transmits data to PACS.
• Verifies patient identity and history; checks pregnancy status; determines need for additional personnel/equipment; ensures patient safety.

Education

Associate's degree or completion of an accredited Radiologic Sciences Program.
