Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist for Brownsburg Urgent Care with travel to Avon Urgent Care. This full-time position includes rotating days and weekends, and a sign-on bonus for eligible applicants.

The role involves operating x-ray, fluoroscopy, and related imaging equipment, while ensuring patient comfort and safety. The technologist will work closely with radiologists and referring physicians, document exam details in the EMR, and adhere to radiation

Qualifications

  • 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support (AHA) certification required.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions.
  • Active ARRT RT(R) registration or board eligibility; must obtain Radiography credential within 6 months of hire.
  • Current ISDH license as Radiologic Technologist or ISDH Radiology Student Permit.

Responsibilities

  • Operate imaging equipment (x-ray, fluoroscopy, portable x-ray, fluoroscopy in surgery) and prepare patients for exams.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging.
  • Follow radiation safety protocols and document patient history in EMR.
  • Monitor patients during exams and assist with minimally invasive procedures as needed.
  • Travel to Avon Urgent Care as required plus work at Brownsburg Urgent Care (rotating days and weekends).
  • Provide patient comfort and clear explanations to reduce anxiety.

This is a full-time Diagnostic Radiology Technologist position located at Brownsburg Urgent Care (rotating days and weekends - 36 hours weekly). The Technologist will travel to Avon Urgent Care when needed.

Operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery. Prepares patients by explaining exam and positioning them correctly. Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging. Follows radiation safety protocols. Documents detailed patient history. Stays current with continuing education. Monitors patients during exam for safety. Documents necessary information in EMR. Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.

  • Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
  • Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.
