Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Diagnostic Radiology Technologist for a full-time role in an orthopedic department. The position features an 8a–5p schedule with no on-call, nights, or weekends, in a fast-paced, supportive team culture.

Responsibilities include operating x-ray, fluoroscopy, and portable imaging equipment, positioning patients, collaborating with radiologists, and ensuring safety and accurate documentation in the EMR.

Qualifications

  • 0–3 years of radiology experience.
  • BLS certification through the American Heart Association is required.
  • Active ARRT RT(R) or board-eligible with Radiography credential within 6 months.
  • Current ISDH Radiologic Technologist license or Radiology Student Permit.
  • Ability to maneuver equipment and position patients when needed.
  • Collaborative team member in a high-volume orthopedic setting.

  • Explain exams and position patients correctly.
  • Collaborate with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging.

Job description

This full-time Diagnostic Radiology Technologist position offers a steady 8a–5p schedule with no call, nights, or weekends. You’ll work in a fast-paced orthopedic department with a strong, supportive team culture. The hiring team is seeking candidates with orthopedic experience, as the role supports a high-volume environment.

Operates imaging equipment such as x-ray, fluoro, portable x-ray, and fluoroscopy equipment used in surgery. Prepares patients by explaining exam and positioning them correctly. Collaborates with radiologists and referring physicians to ensure accurate imaging. Follows radiation safety protocols. Documents detailed patient history. Stays current with continuing education. Monitors patients during exam for safety. Documents necessary information in EMR. Assists with minimally invasive procedures as needed.

  • Requires 0-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) is required.
  • Requires ability to maneuver equipment and improvise positions when the condition of the patient does not permit routine positioning.
  • Requires active status as a Registered Technologist - Radiography, RT(R), through the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or a recent graduate of an approved training program in Radiologic Technology (board eligible). If board eligible, must obtain credential in Radiography within 6 months of hire.
  • Requires current Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) license as Radiologic Technologist or a current ISDH Radiology Student Permit.
