Job summary

Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, WV is seeking a Radiology Technologist Level I to perform imaging and patient care in support of the Radiology Department mission. The role requires ARRT radiography certification, state licensure as applicable, and BLS within 30 days of hire.

Candidates should have at least one year of radiologic technologist experience and be able to rotate through multiple diagnostic areas while maintaining high-quality imaging and patient safety standards.

Qualifications

• Must possess current Radiography license as required by the state board where services will be provided.
• Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography.
• Certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire.
• State and Federal background checks as required for regulated areas.
• One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist.

Responsibilities

• Rotates in all Diagnostic areas for development of technical skills (Fluoro, Mobiles, Routine, OR, Endoscopy, Orthopedics).
• Performs image procedures based on patient status, request, and imaging protocols.
• Produces images of optimal quality using imaging equipment and archiving systems.
• Select exposure factors based on patient size and pathology to optimize quality and minimize exposure.
• Educates patients regarding radiographic procedures and answers questions.
• Promotes teamwork among radiology staff and supporting teams.
• Reports equipment failures immediately upon identification.
• Participates in daily workflow coordination.
• Provides clinical supervision to radiology students as needed.
