WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. is seeking a Radiology Technologist to perform imaging and therapeutic services with a focus on quality patient care.

The role involves rotating through diagnostic areas, selecting appropriate exposures, and adhering to ARRT ethics and hospital policies. Responsibilities include patient positioning, equipment operation, and collaboration with the radiology team to ensure high-quality images while minimizing radiation exposure.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Medical Imaging Program.
• Current Radiography License as required by state board where services will be provided.
• ARRT Registered Radiography Technologist within six months of graduation or upon hire (PA/WV) or upon hire (MD/OH).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days of hire.
• State and Federal background checks as required for regulated areas.

Responsibilities

• Rotates in all Diagnostic areas for development of technical skills (Fluoro, Mobiles, Routine, OR, Endoscopy, Orthopedics).
• Performs image procedures based on assessment and imaging protocols; monitored by evaluations and supervision.
• Produces images of optimal quality using imaging equipment and systems; ensures archiving and delivery.
• Selects exposure factors based on patient size, condition, and pathology to achieve image quality with minimal radiation.
• Minimizes radiation exposure to self and others by shielding, collimation, inverse square law, and minimizing repeats.
• Maintains expertise in anatomy, physiology, and pathology relative to imaging for safe, quality patient care.
• Educates patients regarding radiographic procedures and answers questions accordingly.
• Promotes team approach by interacting with technical, nursing, and medical staff.
• Reports equipment failures promptly; completes in-services and competencies by required dates.
• Positions patients accurately in accordance with established protocols; coordinates daily workflow.
