Job summary

Spectrum Healthcare Resources seeks a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer for the VA Southern Nevada Healthcare System in North Las Vegas, NV. The role involves conducting obstetric, pelvic, abdominal, venous and small parts ultrasound exams, operating diverse probes, and ensuring patient preparation and quality control.

Responsibilities include collaboration with radiologists, potential invasive procedure support, and maintaining ultrasound equipment.

Qualifications

Current ARDMS or ARRT registration.
BLS certification from American Heart Association.
12 months of full-time ultrasound experience within the past 24 months.

Responsibilities

Receive patients, explain procedures and provide care; position patient for examination.
Operate ultrasound scanners and probes (linear, sector, endovaginal) and Doppler capabilities.
Receive and interpret ultrasound requests; perform quality control checks on scanners.
Perform full range of diagnostic ultrasound exams (obstetrical, pelvic, abdominal, small parts, limited vascular).
Assist radiologist and physicians in invasive diagnostic techniques as needed.
Identify abnormalities and determine if additional scans are required.
Maintain and clean equipment; stock supplies and report needed repairs.
