Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of college-level education or equivalent experience in a health care field.
• Completion of an approved training program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer certificates (abdomen or OB-GYN) per ARDMS.
• Registered vascular certification (Vascular Technologist or Vascular Specialist).
• Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Operate ultrasound equipment to produce diagnostic images per radiologist instructions.
• Position patients and explain procedures, ensuring safety and comfort.
• Review images and ensure quality; submit for radiologist interpretation; adhere to ALARA.
• Assist with procedures and maintain sterile technique; educate patients as needed.
• Monitor equipment, perform QA/QC and report malfunctions promptly.
• Maintain supplies inventory and demonstrate effective communication with team.
• May work at reception or scheduling; support other department tasks as needed.
