Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in California is seeking an Ultrasound Technician to produce 2D ultrasonic recordings for diagnostic use, in alignment with imaging services leadership. You will prepare patients, select transducers, operate ultrasound machines, and ensure quality records and safety during examinations.

The role requires ARDMS certification pathway compliance, three years of recent ultrasound experience, and BLS. You will also orient new hires and maintain patient data accuracy in the system.

Qualifications

• Minimum three years of continuous ultrasound experience within the last six years.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Basic Life Support certification required.
• Certification requirements listed above must be met.

Responsibilities

• Exhibits tact and explains procedures to patients to reduce anxiety.
• Prepares and positions patient for examination.
• Selects equipment and adjusts controls for each exam.
• Starts equipment and records diagnostic data.
• Moves transducer to monitor image quality.
• Photographs and preserves permanent records of images.
• Enters test data and patient information into ultrasound system.
• Orients new hires and performs other related duties.
